A Fistful of Paranoia and a Pinprick of Light
The air is thick with the smell of burnt powder and ozone, a delightful perfume for the discerning patriot. Out here in the dust and the din, where the only thing that matters is putting a small piece of metal precisely where you want it to go, your own two eyes are a liability. They twitch, they lie, they get filled with the grit of your own crumbling sanity. You need an upgrade. You need a third eye, a manufactured oracle that cuts through the shimmer and the nonsense.Enter the ohhunt RD-005. The name sounds like a coded transmission, a grunt of approval from some forgotten corner of the arms-and-ammo ether. It arrived in a box with no fanfare, a dense, dark little chunk of machined aluminum that felt more serious than its price tag had any right to. This is not the fragile, budget-bin glass you treat with the delicacy of a Faberge egg. It has a certain heft, a brutish, functional honesty. You get the sense you could drop it, kick it, and it would just glare back at you, daring you to try again.Mounting it on the slide of a trusty sidearm was a clean affair, a perfect match for the RMR footprint—a sign of good breeding in these circles. It settled in like it was born there, a low-profile passenger ready for a very fast ride. With a click and a twist, the battery was in, and the beast awoke. And what an awakening. You’re given a choice, a schizoid vision of targeting reality. Press a button, and you have the classic 2 MOA dot, a crisp, singular ruby of pure intention. It’s a surgeon’s tool, a pinprick of focused rage ready to designate a distant target for immediate, unscheduled renovation. It’s clean, it’s sharp, and it does the job with a minimum of fuss. But the real madness, the beautiful, savage heart of this little optic, lies in the second option. With another press, a 32 MOA circle erupts around the central dot, a blazing halo of righteous certainty. They call it a « Circle Dot, » I call it the « Ring of Inevitability. » For close, fast work, it’s a revelation. You don’t aim; you acquire. You just slam that crimson ring over the problem area and let instinct and mechanics handle the grisly paperwork. It’s a glorious, intuitive chaos, a sight picture that screams « GET SOME » directly into your visual cortex.Zeroing the dot was a simple matter of clicking a tiny turret—no arcane rituals required. It held its ground, round after concussive round. The slide bucked and roared, spitting brass like angry hornets, and that little red dot just floated there, serene and unbothered, a tiny anchor of stability in a storm of controlled explosions. It didn’t flicker. It didn’t wander. It just… worked. This is the kind of gear that punches far above its weight class. It’s a tool for the common man who demands uncommon performance. It gives you the speed and confidence of optics that cost three times as much, leaving you with more cash for the important things in life, like ammunition and bail money. In a world of overpriced, over-hyped gear, the ohhunt RD-005 is a refreshing dose of brutal honesty. It’s a tough, reliable, and wickedly effective piece of hardware that delivers a clear, bright, and versatile aiming point without demanding you sell a kidney to afford it. It’s a tool for seeing things clearly in a world gone blurry. And out here on the firing line, clarity is the only thing that counts.

    Disappointed
Stop workin after my first range day with it and also couldn’t sight it in you get what you pay for !

  3. Ivan Rivera

    Good products
    So far works good

  4. Jonathan Jimenez

    Good quality for the price.
Great quality. Metal and easy to zero in. The reason it didn’t get a 5 star is because the red dot itself is a bit big for my taste. But other than that it is a solid product for the price.

  5. Carlitos

    Awesome
Honestly its great. Works well on my 9mm adn keeps zero… 200 rounds so far but so good. M&P 2.0, 9 x 19. It includes two adapter plates and a cover + battery. Can’t ask for more…. Adapter fits great in my Gock 17 gen 4 as well

    Great for the money
I put this on my Walther PPQ M2 with a custom made plate for rmr footprints and it fits perfectly. Have shot 100 rounds and still zeroed, and for me thats important because this is on my EDC. I know there are mixed reviews but I took a chance and it worked out for me. I also like the small profile, it’s nowhere near as big as my trijicon. Very happy with the purchase.

Save your money, not worth it.
Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. The reticle it so far offline it’s hard to even find and using the adjustments does nothing, it’s unusable.

  8. Kyle Lyons

Red dot sight wouldn’t turn off
The button to turn the sight off said to hold the – for 3 seconds an it would turn off but it didn’t then it said it would turn off automatically after 2 hours but that’s stupid because then it’s just going to drain the battery by doing that so idk what was up with that but I sent it back then I got another one an it didn’t even have the sight in it, it was just the parts for it so that was frustrating
