Price makes it great
This is my second attempt for a sight in this price range. My first brand was not as low of a profile and wouldn’t co-witness with my sights from a mounting plate option and it’s taller front sight. The ohhunt sight has a bigger window, sharper red dot, and seems to have less parallax. The adjustment alignment had enough range so as not to have to use a shim with my raised mount. I didn’t use the picatinny rail mount but a dovetail rmsc mounting plate on my S&W shield. The lack of reticle selection may deture some buyers but the 3 moa well defined dot is exactly what I wanted. The finish is nice and design is stylish. The exterior battery access was a major consideration that I wanted. The motion wake up is a standard these days that is a must not only for battery life but instant sight access. The brightness buttons seem to be firm enough to eliminate accidental adjustment. So far this compares easily with my other red dot sights costing 4 times the price. I can’t think of anything lacking at this price point for an open emmitter sight. I am pleased with it enough that I ordered another one.

ohhunt RD U3 Red Dot Sight – Functional Budget Option with Some Limitations
This red dot sight is a functional option for those on a budget, but it lacks the refinement of higher-end models. The 3 MOA dot is larger than expected, and the overall build quality feels a bit underwhelming. It works well enough for basic use, but it doesn’t quite deliver the polish or precision you’d find in premium alternatives. On the plus side, it uses common CR2032 batteries, and the shake-to-wake feature is a major advantage, helping to extend battery life. It’s a good budget-friendly choice, but you may still find yourself wanting more if you’ve used better-quality sights. A decent starter or backup option.

great optic for the price!!!
I needed an optics for an RMSc footprint dagger. I picked this one because a friend suggested it. My review after a 2 range trips:Pros:- shake awake- rugged metal design- clear glass and dot- easy adjustment- battery tray is accessible without removing optic- held zero for over 200 rounds of 9cons:- started to flicker, but i replaced the battery and now works fine.I have this optic on a blaster i normally wouldnt reach for, but after use I would consider it. It held up great and held a zero with ease.

Dead after a few rounds
After less than 10 rounds the shake awake function is dead, you have to manually turn it on, not worth the risk when you’ll need it !!

Fits RMSc Mounting Footprint, Works OK, a Bit Bulky
I mounted the RD U3 to one of my CANIK METE 9mm pistols using the provided hardware. Plus points for Ohhunt suppling a wide variety of mounting screws! The sight is a bit bulky compared to my Sig Red-Dots – but it works well. In the attached photos, see how far the sight overhangs the sides of the CANIK’s slide. Granted, the slide is tapered, and maybe this wouldn’t be an issue on a Block. My Sig Romeo Zero does not hang over so far; it is 23.7mm wide compared to the RD U3 at 27mm.The red-dot is crisp and I was quickly able to get it zeroed at 25 yards. It retained zero through 25 rounds of +P ammo; not a torture-test by any means, but at least a positive 1st test. The slide-in 1632 battery is both clever and potentially problematic; the tiny (non-captive) screws will be easy to lose and the tiny rubber gasket on the door easy to damage. On the plus-side, it does eliminate removing the entire sight and rezeroing just to replace a battery. The shake-awake feature is standard now on any decent quality red-dot. I wish the RD U3 had a selectable reticle of a circle, circle plus dot, or just a dot… like serval Sig models have.At $119, this Ohhunt costs more (or the same) than several model Sig Romeo red-dots – all Sig models having an “infinite guarantee”. For Ohhunt to be price competitive against a well-known name brand, this model should sell for under $100.

Pretty decent budget sight
I’ve enjoyed testing this ohhunt red dot so let’s get on with the formalities.Likes….- Silly but the first thing that I was impressed with was the user’s manual. Very well written and easy to read. I’ve had problems reading some instructional information from other countries in the past but definitely not this one.- The side mount slide out battery tray. Initially I was all…..menh, who cares but then when I thought back to a few other red dots that I own I found that I do prefer this side mount.- The build quality feels good and the finish on it looks great.Dislikes…….Well, I haven’t really come across any yet. Ran about 100 rounds of 223 with one of those most common rifles in the states rifle and it held zero during the entire sesh.Overall impression……For a budget friendly red dot I was impressed and would say if you were in the market for a red dot but your allowance hasn’t quite gotten up to the bigger names in the red dot hierarchy, this red dot by OHHUNT will do you just fine. It’s a decent price and a decent red dot

This Red dot has shake awake tech!
Very impressed !!Quality made, durable Weaving mounting bracket, clearly illuminated red dot that has 8 different brightness levels, accurate , shake awake technology that senses movement and turns on to last setting. (Automatically turns off after 2 minutes to save battery life)It’s really an all around solid sight worth considering!

Decent sight for the price.
This is a pretty descent sight for the price. The optics are clear and the dot is easy to see. There is plenty of brightness adjustment to accommodate a bright sunny day. I had a little trouble getting it to stay zerod in at first, but it seems like it’s staying put now, after about 50 rnds. It’s built very well, and fits perfectly. The battery life is great. This is a very functional unit, and looks good mounted.
