Great Focus knob for small camera build
I needed a compact follow focus to use with my BMD Micro Studio 4K G2 rig build and this Tilta model seemed to meet all my requirements. When it arrived I was very impressed with the case that was included as I was not expecting one. It holds all of the parts firmly in place and provides great protection and easy storage for the parts. Upon removing the focus knob from the case I was impressed with the overall build quality. It was the perfect size for my cage rig and slid right onto the 15mm side rod with ease. The mount is easy to lock down and holds the gear firmly against the lens without slipping. The focus gear is a perfect fit for my Meike MFT Cine Prime lenses and provides very smooth focus adjustment. The stops on the knob are perfect for setting the outer bounds of the focus range. And because of its compact size the focus knob is easy to access without being bulky and getting in the way of other accessories.

A Solid, Reliable Focus Solution
This is my trusty backup focus system. I prefer the Tilta Nano 2 for the remote operation, but you can’t beat the simple reliability of this well-built, well-designed focus system. It’s also priced really well. It’s easy to install and easy to use. If reliability is important to you, this is for you.

Very Impressively Smooth and Precise
Very impressive. Smooth as glass. The design of the focus mark stops is quite good. The gear ratio is reasonably good, enabling far more precision than grabbing the lens. I would like to have the option of a smaller gear to shift the ratio even higher. I tried the Nitz FF, but found the Tilta better. Recommended.

Incredibly well made with smooth responsiveness
Having used a highly inferior version from a shoulder rig kit I’d gotten, I just assumed all of these were a pain to use if you were swapping out lenses or needing to change the rig setup. This product changed my mind. The wheel turn is smooth without excessive drag or wobble. The innovative latching system allows me to swivel the gear away from the lens without changing the clamping force on my rig. No need for hex key tools is such a game changer when making quick changes on set. Love this product.

Good Follow Focus
The follow focus performs as expected. It easily mounts to 15mm rods. There is a lever that allows the gear to fold away from the lens so changing lenses is extremely simple. The focus knob operates smoothly. The gear mates up to the gears on all my cinema lenses perfectly. The stops are easy to set and are very consistent. For the price you cant go wrong.
